Hmm, I still can't reproduce it. I thought I did once, but now I can't
:(. There are definately problems with .48 but the VERY latest CVS works
fine for me after following your instructions exactly. Make sure you
get the updates I did today. Also I enabled the debug output so if you 
reproduce it again, the gpilotd output might be quite useful.

I did observe kinda similar thing if I make changes on the client, but 
then I realised that I didn't have "ignore_end" setup and conduit was
picking the "backup~" file that emacs saved. So that's not really a
bug. And my .ids wasn't getting corupted.
