Sort of. We asked for our own install-menu item at the same level
as other major components, instead of getting buried. I'm not sure
how that request mutatated into the above statements.

It was a stock PR request: since Gnumatic is pouring gobs of money
into development, it wanted to get a higher, more prominent billing.
Basically, Ximian and Eazel get all the glory, and Gnumatic gets nada
(although this is partly because Gnumatic hasn't hired expensive PR
people, and done the news media road show).

I suppose some may ask 'why should gnumatic get top billing just
because its a company, while all these other people are working
really hard for free, shouldn't they get equal billing?' The obvious
answer is that if Gnumatic can enjoy some amount of commercial success,
get some real income, it would be happy to hire any number of the
lead developers of other free software projects, so that they could
do what they like, and get paid for it.

So, yes, trying to get top billing for gnucash is crass and commercial,
but hey, it *is* GPL'ed, and Gnumatic *is* trying to pay coders to
develop the thing. I'm willing to trade commercialism if we can
get more income, more people coding on a salary and having more fun
doing it.
