yes, right. If we use something like what RH uses, the user only needs
to enter the password once. I'm not sure, but I think gnome 2.4 includes
this.

don't know, since I don't use it. Can somebody with a mac explain us in

yeah. Running our own server makes things very tricky, since you can't
have more than user running the server, due to using the same port (or,
if you don't use the same port, then, it's a mess, since users need to
know which port other users are using).

no, I don't think so neither. The best thing is if we can integrate with
all networks (smb, nfs, novell, etc).

yes, but in any case, there are plans to have such a daemon, not only
for this, but for things like knowing when a network card has been
started/stopped, etc

well, like GST, that daemon should just integrate, not replace other
means to access that file.

if we use the daemon, we just have to send a message to it, to tell it
'share this folder for user x'. If no daemon, then I guess using
symbolic links, or, if not possible, a synchronized copy (we could use
fam on the server to detect when there are changes on the dirs being
shared, and sync the copy when this happens) might work.

yes, we need more detail on the setting on a shared dir.
