Ah, ok.  There can definitely be other properties which influence the
behavior.

It's something that comes up from time to time... we're definitely aware
of it, but we don't have a concrete plan to tackle it.  I think audio is
just about one of the few things that has a server interface to the
hardware, so that's probably one of the best places to start.
