Well, his email seems to be invalid, so I figured I'd forward this to the list. I couldn't find any mention of it in the docs or archives. - Dave BTW - I'm not subscribed to this list, so please include me in any followups, etc. ----- Forwarded message from Dave <dave bigfatdave com> ----- Date: Sun, 3 Aug 2003 14:59:23 -0400 From: Dave <dave bigfatdave com> To: ricdude toad net Subject: Just For Fun ;-) User-Agent: Mutt/1.4i X-GPG-Key: http://www.bigfatdave.com/dave/public.key X-GPG-Key-Direct-Link: http://67.81.72.42:8000/dave/public.key X-GPG-Key-Old-Location: http://www.dave.tj:8000/dave/public.key X-GPG-Notice: Remember: if it ain't signed, don't assume I sent it! One rather neat way of using esd that isn't 100% mentioned in the docs is looking at esddsp and manually updating /etc/ld.so.preload to load the appropriate libraries all the time. I simply have to set my ESPEAKER variable in .bashrc now, and all my favorite programs play sound over the network automatically. This is all you need to do in the /etc/ld.so.preload file: /usr/lib/libesddsp.so /usr/lib/libesd.so ...cool, eh? - Dave -- Uncle Cosmo, why do they call this a word processor? It's simple, Skyler.
