Hmmm. I think this is unavoidable, because the virtual terminal widget
can't fall back to the old fonts. Have you tried
bistream-vera-sans-mono? It looks very well here.

Yeah, there's a lot of room for improvement here...

That's why I'm proposing a clal for help. We don't have manpower to fix
stuff, even the most serious issues.

Again, these ideas are very nice, and I'd love if G-M supported them,
but right now, there's nobody working on them, so I wouldn't expect them
soon.

It's all about lack of developers investing some time on gnome-mud.

Robin, are you raeding? Do you agree with calling for help?
