Thanks again for the tip.  I used the sample configuration file (with
some modification) from that location and and ran jhbuild bootstrap.
it echoed this "I: unknown keys defined in configuration file: libdir,
system_libdir" then completed successfully.

Subsequently jhbuild returned the following:

I: unknown keys defined in configuration file: libdir, system_libdir
I: gdm has a dependency on unknown "accountsservice" module
I: f-spot has a dependency on unknown "gnome-sharp" module
I: gnumeric has a dependency on unknown "goffice" module
I: meta-gnome-core-os-services has a dependency on unknown
"accountsservice" module
I: rhythmbox has a dependency on unknown "libgnome-media-profiles" module
I: rhythmbox has a dependency on unknown "gst-python" module
I: gimp has a dependency on unknown "gegl" module
I: taglib-sharp has a dependency on unknown "gnome-sharp" module
I: gdm has a dependency on unknown "accountsservice" module

Does this indicate a problem?
