ok...i will check it out after i finish my homework... :( ...also how
are are responses to threads in a mailing list suppose to be addressed
to?
1. Should the message be replied to and sent to the actual person and
cc'ed to the mailing list (i don't like this because then evolution does
not filter mailing lists properly)
2. Should the message be replied to and sent directly to the mailing
list with the subject "Re: topic"?
3. Am i totally wrong and there is a proper way to respond?
Fill me in :D
Thanks,
Collin Doering

I've written this some time ago:

You can also check out:

For all newer stuff, just check out at the end of the API documentation.
For example for GTK, you can see in the section "Migrating from Previous
Versions of GTK+" all the newer stuuf to use.
For example for menus and toolbars:
http://developer.gnome.org/doc/API/2.0/gtk/gtk-migrating-GtkAction.html

Hi, is there a doc that explains what technologies should be used in
2007 to build a basic Gnome application using the C language? In
particular, something that describes what APIs should be used to "do
this and that", maybe with explicit warnings about what APIs are
currently deprecated and available only for backward compatibility? I
know some little Gnome programming and with some help from the community
I'd like to collaborate to write such doc (if it doesn't exist yet): it
would contain hints on how to write a single threaded app, with custom
GObjects and Glade integration, plus an explanation of all the latest
and greatest ways to build menus and toolbars and how to add a proper
Help and Credit window, how to pass params from the CLI and how to
generate a build script using Anjuta 2.0
Also, I noticed that many Gnome docs (articles, tutorials et cetera)
available on the Net don't have a date indicating the last time they
have been updated.
Ciao!
