Hi,

If I log into a freshly build GNOME 2.14 environment (built with
jhbuild) the login remains at the splash screen for several minutes.

Any suggestions what could be wrong and what I might do to solve this?

Is the login actually frozen, or can you dismiss the splash screen by
either clicking on it or launching something from the panel? For me,
it's the latter -- everything is up and running but the splash screen
doesn't go away for some reason.

Sorry for not being clear. The only thing I see is the splash screen
(with no icons on it) on a solid background (gnome-panel and nautilus
etc. have not been loaded yet) and then it takes a couple of minutes to
login

Answers to the other mails:

1. Yes I have a localhost hostname
2. Yes it also happens when I log into a completely clean account
