[gnome-love] where can i find docs on how to create a gtk widget with proper gtk format

i'm trying to create a sidebar widget from Paned gtk
widgets. i have code in an app that works. but i need
to get the sources and make a patch to submit. i'm
looking for these docs so that i can figure out the
gtk source code faster.
