How do I turn off the Update Checker?

Hello,
  gnome v3.14
  opensuse v13.2

  Gnome has a process (packagekit?) that periodically checks for
updates. How do I disable it?
  There exists an update that bricks my system. I wish to disable
updates until that is fixed.
