So, I finally found a solution. Under Gnome > 3.8 there is an existing
shortcut under System -> Show the activities overview which can be
assigned to a custom shortcut.

No idea?
What I am talking about is this custom keyboard shortcut window:

In addition to having the overview mode displayed when using the Meta
key, I want to assign this function to an additional keyboard
shortcut.

Hello,
How can I assign Gnome's overview mode to a custom shortcut?
What would be the command that I need to call with my keyboard shortcut?
Thanks,
Robert
