When one removes the user directory in /home/ this is not enough to
remove the all the configurations.
The safest way is to add the user again and then, certainly in Mandriva,
remove the user and to tick the boxes to remove all the other bits.
And yes those settings are in '/' and I too will be interested to see
exactly where and, unfortunately it may be in different places depending
on your flavour of Linux Ubuntu Mandriva etc.
