How does one set it up so that new windows open on, say, the bottom right hand corner of the screen rather than the (default?) current top left?

Using Debian Squeeze.

Thanks.

Thanks Dupuy - that *might* be what I am looking to do.  I say "might", because it is not clear to me where I set these preferences.

Specifically what I want to do is to open an application off of the menu and it opens at a pre-defined region of the screen (e.g. bottom right).  This is because I run Conky which is in the top left and windows typically open in a way that obscures the Conky display.

I thought that there might be some user-friendly GUI switch, but if not can you give me a steer where these config files are likely to be located so I can alter them.

Cheers

AG
