Just upgraded from 2.22.1 to 2.22.2 on Fedora 9 and experienced the
same issues that you described, browser crashes on most sites.
Although I have to say that 2.22.1 was quite stable with gecko.
I see numerous bugs in bugzilla related to this, here is one of them

PS there is an epiphany mailing list on gnome, consider posting there
in the future for better support.
