What is the value of DBUS_SESSION_BUS_ADDRESS variable ?
On Linux/bash i would use the command below

	$ set |grep DBUS

Is dbus-luanch, and/or dbus-daemon running ?
afaik, sessions are started as shown below on linux atleast

       exec -l $SHELL -c "$SSH_AGENT $DBUS_LAUNCH gnome-session"
