mpeg players ???

Ladies and/or Gentlemen.
What has happened to mpeg players in Gnome?? Many years ago when the
earth was green .. there was a gtv that played mpegs.. In the last
two versions of REDHAT - GNOME that I have installed, mpeg players are
NON _EXISTANT !!!.. Is there anywhere I can go to get a simple runnable
usable MPEG player for GNOME - Linux ????
