How to add items to righClick of desktop?

I'm in the process of converting form kde to gnome. <Not intended to be
a troll, just stating my back-ground>  As I am personalizing my desk
top, I can't seems to figure out how to add items to the rightClick
desktop menu.  In particular I would like to add firefox and konqueror
as root.
