Hi,
I just had gnome2.2 installed. But the gnome-terminal 2.2 crashes everytime
I launch it. The error message says:
Xlib: extension "RENDER" missing on display ":0.0".
The program 'gnome-terminal' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadAlloc (insufficient resources for operation)'.
(Details: serial 448 error_code 11 request_code 53 minor_code 0)
(Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)
I did some google but didn't come up with anything that I could understand.
Another thing is that I keep getting ugly fonts in powershell. Where does
powershell read font from? I installed truetype fonts from a debian package
msttcorefonts and get satisfactory fonts in galeon. The font file resides
in /usr/share/fonts/truetype/ and /var/lib/defoma/x-ttcidfont-conf.d/dirs/TrueType. And I quoted them in XF86Config-4.
On another machine I get very good fonts from "fixed (misc)". But on this machine, this font is "a 2-byte font and may not be displayed correctly". It simply cannot be loaded.
Many thanks,
Wei Wang
