disabling multi-head support

Hello,

I'm using Gnome 2.0 now and I haven't dared upgrading
to 2.2 yet because of the new multi-head support. I
have two screens and on one of them I run Gnome with
Metacity. On the other screen I run this hacked up
special window manager and I don't want Gnome to have
anything to do with it.

What will happen if I upgrade to Gnome 2.2? Can I do
it safely?
