Nautilus problem

When I click on the icon of a file created by OpenOffice, I get a
message that there is no viewer available, however when I try to arrange
for an association with that file, it turns out the association is
already "there" in the associations menu, with the mime type:

application/vnd.sun.xml.writer.template

How do I get nautilus to make the connection?
