I use for CD burning:

1) xcdroast for data files, pictures, etc and assembly of a music CD with tracks from various sources. xcdroast cannot burn music CD on the fly.

2) gcdmaster for burning music CD on the fly (can do much more). gcdmaster is included in the cdrdao packages.
