gnome-terminal keyb. shortcuts doesn't work

gnome-terminal-2.5.1
vte-0.11.10
metacity-2.6.3
.

somewhere between gnome-2.4 and gnome-2.5 my keyboard shortcuts in
gnome-terminal stopped to work.

i use gnome-2.5.1

when i have the menu enabled in gnome-terminal, then the keyb. shortcuts
work fine. but when i disable/hide the menu, then the keyb. shortcuts
stop to work. they worked fine in gnome 2.4.

any ideas what can i do?

is there a setting i forgot to activate or should i file a bugreport?
