i've been trying to set up nautilus multimedia through gstreamer on gnome 2.2 in mandrake 9.1, well that's a world of fun and games.
if you install nautilus-media, it will fail, you have to install gstreamer-player first (i found that out after hours of googling - it should have been required by nautilus media).
having done that, audio view becomes available as it should be in gnome 2.2 now i found that you can't play audio without disabling the esd sound server. i pissed about with gConf settings for gstreamer trying to get it to play nice with esd, but no cigar. absolute nightmare.
no video thumbnails either, not sure if that's another package.
anyone in the know on this? can gstreamer play nice with my gnome sound server?
thanks for any help!
