gnome panel run dialog problem

I installed gnome 2.1.1 from source, I use Chinese locale, and I found their 
is bug in gnome-panel, when I use Alt+F2 to open the run program dialog, and 
I input a app name not exists in the system, the gnome-panel will crash and 
restart again. when I input a corrent appname, it will ok.

and another quesion I want to move the desktop panel from top to bottom, how 
can I do
