Heh. Conveniently, such a document exists. Check out the
gnome-devel-docs module from CVS. Then change into the tutorials/i18n/C
directory and run
mkdir html && xsltproc -o html/ i18n-guide.xml
to generate some HTML (assumes you have a reasonable Docbook + XSL
stylesheet setup).
Bear in mind that this document is a whole three old and there are some
fixes that need to be checked in still, but it should be understandable.
It may not solve your precise problems, but you should at least get some
idea of how the process is _meant_ to work, which is one of the keys to
debugging stuff.
Hmmm. This doc doesn't seem to explain what is *really* going on (i.e.
what the scripts etc. actually do). Also, it doesn't mention "intl", which
is what's causing me most pain.
