Although the points still stand. I'm just posting this update in case
anyone at Ximian is reading.

With regards to the Mozilla issue (no.2). Allowing Red Carpet to update
it again (to exactly the same version) resulted in 0.9.5 being installed
twice (according to RPM) and that broke Mozilla completely. Both
instances had to be removed with the --allmatches switch and the binary
rpm reinstalled.

With regards to the ORBit issue when compiling code (no.4), I recompiled
gnome-libs and reinstalled the resulting gnome-libs & gnome-libs-devel
packages and that fixed the problem.

Incidentally, I noticed that the gnome-libs rpms were built on
natasha.ximian.com on September 21st (ish) 2001. Does this mean it was
built on RH7.1 or a Rawhide release? It seems a lot of the RH7.2 Ximian
Gnome rpms were built around this date (some earlier) which raises an
eyebrow.

Anyway, I just thought I'd provide something a little more constructive
after my little rant. *smile*

Best regards (& a Happy New Year to all fellow Gnomites) :)
