Strange mousepointer "noise"

Hi!

Is anyone else having the "problem" that to the right of their mouse pointer
are some horizontal lines that seem to blink and jump up and down??

They don't do anything, and isn't causing any trouble, but it is just plain
anoying...

btw: I am (still) running Gnome 1.2 and with some sawfish as window manager...
