compile error gnome-libs 1.2.12

Hi,

when i try to compile gnome-libs (using --enable-prefer-db1) i get the
following error:

when i try to compile it without --prefer-enable-db1 i get somewhat the
same error except for 'undefined referece to 'dbopen'', which is changed
to 'undefined reference to '__db185_open''.

i've installed both db1.85 and db2.7.7 with 1.85 support.
anyone got a clue?
