(video_card) Power saver options on desktop?

Hello Family,

In trying to troubleshoot why we can use Gnome's [control_center]-->
[screen_saver]--> [use_power_management]--> [shutdown_monitor]-->
setting on an ATI-264GT and not on Nvidia card(s) on some Dell
machines.

All machines will respond to screensaver changes but only the
[Mach_64] ATI cards will actully allow Gnome to shutdown the
monitor.

Any help would be appreciated.
