Installing on RH 6.2

Upon running the installer, I received the messages:

"Gd-WARNING **: locate not supported by Xlib, locale set to C
Gd-WARNING **: cannot set local modifiers
Gd-WARNING **: cannot open display"

I ran "export DISPLAY=:-" previously as directed.

Does this mean I'm missing libs? If so which ones?
