make xalf remember current workspace

Hi,
running 1024x768 I make heavy use of multiple desktops/ workspaces/
viewports (sawfish is a little confusing there). My computer isn't the
fastest, either, so starting eg StarOffice takes time.

Now I'd like new windows to show up on the desktop I where on when
pushing the starter, whish could maybe done with a hack to xalf.

Is anything like that out there? Or some other way to keep an ordered
screen?
