Why can't I see my CD-ROM contents under Gnome?

Hi everyone!

I don't know whether this is only specific to Gnome, or probably to
all Linuxes, but why can't I see folders and some files on my CD-ROMs.
I have Red Hat 7.0. The CD-ROMs were burned under Windows, but then
does Linux care? Sometimes I can see some files, in a few cases I can
see files under some specific directory, and sometimes nothing. Can
anyone please help?
