I can suggest what I know :) Try CUPS with the gimp-print drivers. I
use this on debian, it just worked, and the hp5 series is supported by
gimp-print. (I just looked). Try searching for cups and gimp-print-cups
on http://rpmfind.net, and look at http://gimp-print.sourceforge.net/
and http://cups.org.
http://linuxprinting.org has more info. I find it confusing, but somehow
worked my way through it to get CUPS working on a mandrake system some
time ago.
