Problem Description :
well i want to have linux machine as the main
logon server(??) and file server.
Clients are to be windows 98 machines. i am trying this :
1.suppose my windows machine
username
: abc
password
: xyz
i think on linux server i have to create a account
abc( with the same password ??)
what exactly does smbpasswd command
does.
i think i have to do also
smbpasswd abc
password : xyz (exactly why??)
i want my windows client to log on linux
server
i want that if client changes the windows
password he will not be able to log on to linux server.How?
please if possible provide relevant details
with reasons to do above task and any impt changes to be made in
smb.conf
