what is 'gal' and how do I get it?

Running Ximian Gnome and tried to install mrproject from codefactory.  Error 
message is:

error: failed dependencies:
       gal >= 0.7 is needed by mrproject-0.3.2-1

How can I obtain and install this needed 
component/code/module/whatever-it-is?

PS - I'm a new Linux user and not too clear on what experienced persons may 
consider 'basic knowledge'.

Running RedHat 7.1, XFree86 4.1.0, Ximian Gnome, all on IBM ThinkPad 600X.
