control-center-1.4.0.1 compilation error

Has anybody managed to compile "control-center-1.4.0.1" on HPUX box ???

I 've tried to compile it on HPUX version 11.00and I get the error :

../xml-i18n-merge -d ../po gnomecc.desktop.in gnomecc.desktop
Missing $ on loop variable at ../xml-i18n-merge line 167.
gmake: *** [gnomecc.desktop] Error 2

It seems there isa problem with "xml-i18n-merge"  file.

Any idea how to fix it ???
