Although I'm sure it may vary from one dist to another, on my Suse
machine, you can edit the file: /opt/kde/share/config/kdmrc to
add/modify the available session types. My entry looks like this:

SessionTypes=kde;blackbox;enlightenment;fvwm;fvwm2;gnome;icewm;mwm;olvwm;olwm;twm;windowmaker;failsafe;
