Gnome application compiling problem.

first, Thanks everyone for help me.

Im running debian 2.1, I just installed the Helix gnome on my computeur,
when I try to compile a program I receive an error:

Like this when I try to compile gnome-telnet, lemme know if anyone can
help me


checking for gnome-config... no
checking for gnomeConf.sh file in /usr/local/lib... not found
configure: error: Could not find the gnomeConf.sh file that is generated
by gnome-libs install
