For starters, could you tone down the compression (-z9) that significantly
increases the load on the servers, and provides very MINIMAL compression
differences.
The generally accepted 'nice' value is '-z3'. It creates the least amount of
strain on the server(s), while still providing you with a (relatively) fast
update.
By the way - I believe the correct person to email is sopwith redhat com (i
believe there is an @gnome.org email address for this but I do not recall it).
