make error after configure (was Re: q?)

This should have been checked by configure but obviously
it wasn't. On redhat based distributions (like Mandrake)
the binarys and the include files and libary archives are
in seperate  rpms. Try to install the basic gnome-devel
rpms. They should be somewhere on the distribution CD.
