Problem with helix-update

Hi!
I just updated helix-update to helix-update-0.8-0_helix_1 and found out that
when it shows the packages suggested for updates, all the letters got replaced
by open squares. It must be either encoding of a font problem. I usually have
my LANG set to ru_RU.KOI8-R and I thought it might be the problem but setting
locale back to C did not have any effect on helix-update behaviour.
Can anyone enlighten me? Thanks much,
