Re: UnTaring files

There are a lot of questions unanswered in your e-mail that would help debug
your problem.

Did you execute the make install command as root?

What do you get when you type "which balsa" at a command prompt?

What type of errors messages do you get when you type "balsa" at a command
prompt?

How are you trying to start the programs? Are you just looking for them to
show up in the Gnome menu (the menu that looks like a foot)? Programs
generally don't show up in the Gnome menu unless you specifically put them
there.

Let us know the answers to these and that'll help us help you. Also, be
forewarned that this isn't most likely a Gnome issue, so you may get e-mails
telling you it is off-topic!
