Gxedit and syntax highlighting ????????

Hi all,

I wanted to have syntax highlighted in Gxedit but i can not. I have 
installed the GTK editor (ver 0.1.0) which according to the author 
does not work with it.So I have downloaded one of the earlier version 
(ver 0.0.7) but I can not compile it. It seems that I have to patch 
it. So I have installed the patch but it does not compile at all. Can 
somebody help me to solve this problem.
My second question is how to configure the GTK editor to have 
highlighted syntax in Gxedit (there is nothing about it in the Gxedit 
manual, it is just said that you have to download the gtkeditor that's 
all).
