Helix-update question

Folks!
I was just wondering about something. I installed Gnome 1.2 just by 'rpm
-Uhv',
not through helix-update. Then, later, I decided to look what updates came in
and saw that helix-update still thinks I do not have Gnome 1.2 installed.
Has anyone seen this? Can anyone suggest any way around it?
