Problem with 1.2 on SuSE-6.4

I collected GNOME-1.2 last night and am running it on my
SuSE-6.4 system. All is well, except gmc (or mc for that
matter) doesn't start. I get an error message saying it
can't find libext2fs.so.2. Sure enough, this isn't on my
system. The SuSE-6.4 libext2fs package only seems to contain
libext2fs.a - not the shared object version.

Any SuSE users seen and fixed this? Failing that, where can
I get this library (or it's source)?
