When building all of Gnome-1.2 on my Solaris 8 box, I found that many Makefiles 
hadn't had their "LIBS=" lines built at all - the line just had those 5 
characters on it.  In each case I had to figure out which of the many *_LIBS 
above that line needed including in there to allow the ld phase to find all the 
required symbols.

I did mention this in my previous post, but there's been a lot of noise about 
this recently =O{

If I had clue 1 about configure I'd figure out how to patch it - but it's still 
a black art to me, sorry.
