Hi, I think it is without doubt that Red Hat is one of the best companies that
support Free Software. Red Hat's contributions to GNOME is way above any other companies to date. Without Red Hat's contributions GNOME cannot be where it is
today. The GNOME community should greatly thank them for that.
Miguel's remarks, if not joking, are not appropriate. Miguel should apologize to
Red Hat. Even though Miguel is the project leader, he is clearly wrong in the
remarks. Red Hat's GNOME was basically the packaging of the official releases
of GNOME, to which Miguel was partly responsible for. If Miguel thinks
Red Hat's version of GNOME was not the best it can be, then he should be able to
do something about it.
Red Hat, please continue to support GNOME the way it has been... the community
looks up to you to do this, and the users thank your contributions despite
Miguel's remarks.
Also, Helix Code and Red Hat are in two different spaces, and they shall work
closely together---they are not competitors.
(This is not meant to start any flames. Please don't)
A GNOME user
