OK I have downloaded and installed orbit 5.2 and managed to install oaf 0.3
(.4 failed abysally)
Now gnomevfs bombs as follows
nsl -lm -lgconf -lgmodule -lgthread -lglib -lpthread -ldl
.libs/libgnomevfs.so: undefined reference to `OAF_ServerInfo_duplicate'
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make[2]: *** [gnome-vfs-gen-mimedb] Error 1

make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1

make: *** [all-recursive-am] Error 2
