	    On the other end of the spectrum is a limited general membership.  
    This opens all the possibilities of bad, beaurocratic decision making that
    have ran so many cool products into the ground (Amiga, NeXt, Atari, and
    almost the Mac).  Just look at the Emacs split that happened when RMS
    pulled this stunt with the FSF.

Aside from being rude, this is also entirely mistaken about the causes
of the forking of XEmacs.  (For more information about what did
happen, see www.stallman.org/xemacs.text, which I have put there
temporarily for you to get.) 

Please check the facts before placing blame and condemnation on
someone.  I hope that discussions about what the GNOME Foundation will
do will be carried out on a higher level; nobody working on part of
the GNU Project should ever speak in this way in public about anyone
else working on GNU.

I don't mean to start a tangential discussion on these lists about
XEmacs, so if anyone wants to respond, I suggest writing only to me
personally.
